Update from Sharon Dunscombe:
GOOD NEWS! THE SHEBBEAR FREE BOOK SWAP bookcase is up and running as of 4th December. There have been whispered promises of copies of Fifty Shades of Grey, along with magazines and a few other books.
There is room on the shelves for about forty books and I will be monitoring the shelving to weed out the ones that are not being borrowed and take them to a charity shop.
Please all feel free to visit and borrow or drop off any books or magazines that you think anyone else in the village might like.
Please also SPREAD THE WORD!
Not everyone has access to this Community Board but there are, hopefully, a lot of people out there who like reading!
Thanks again to Karen Bowden for allowing us to use her driveway at CLARRIETS to house the books.

Pupils Learn Mechanics in Life Skills Classes
Lead by teachers Mr Trask, Mr Sanders and Mr Barlow, a group of students have been learning car mechanics as part of the Shebbear College Life Skills initiative.
Shebbear College is already well known for its variety of creative studies and the Life Skills Centre is an additional facility to the Art Department, offering a much wider range of subjects and creative activities. The centre comprises five newly refurbished workshops and studios which enable pupils to get creative with art, pottery, ceramics, textiles and fashion, photography, sculpture, design, technology and mechanics.
The Life Skills Centre has been operational since September and is part of an on-going development plan across the college campus.
While the main aim behind Shebbear.NET is to create a useful and functional online resource to the local community, we also try to promote Shebbear as a tourist attraction.
This has been made a lot easier since Michael started creating videos for the website. Michaels videos are not only available on Shebbear.NET and YouTube, but we have received requests for permission to use the videos.
You can see our videos on our Youtube channel by clicking here. They are also listed on the following websites:
A message from Michael at Shebbear.NET! Hello and thanks for visiting. We're currently working on redeveloping the website based on the feedback we have received. It seems the key thing people are looking for is simplicity. Also more pictures, videos, and a public forum - all of which we are working on.
Requests for the history of Shebbear seems to repeatedly come up and this is another project we are working on... [More coming soon]
